HPLC Column

HPLC columns, as the most important components in HPLC, play the role of separating compounds, and the type and performance of columns directly determine the selectivity, separation effect, and separation speed of HPLC analysis.
HPLC columns
HAWACH supplies HPLC columns including reversed-phase columns, normal-phase columns, ion exchange columns, etc. These column types can be selected according to different experimental requirements to improve the selectivity, separation effect, and separation speed of the analysis, providing strong support for chemical analysis and other research fields.

Reversed-Phase HPLC Column

Reversed-phase columns are the most common column type in HPLC. The stationary liquid phase of the reversed-phase column is a hydrophobic material, such as dehydrated chromatography paper, polyester, etc., and a non-polar stabilizer is used to improve its stability. Reversed-phase columns are mainly used to separate polar compounds. By controlling the proportion of organic solvents in the mobile phase solvent, the polar compounds in the sample interact with the reversed-phase column liquid phase to achieve compound separation. Common reverse-phase columns include C4, C18, C8, etc.

Normal Phase HPLC Column

In contrast to reverse phase columns, normal phase columns have hydrophilic stationary liquids, such as silica gel, amino silica gel, etc. Normal phase columns are mainly used to separate non-polar compounds, and their ability to separate polar compounds is poorer than reverse phase columns.

‌Ion-Exchange HPLC Column

Ion-exchange columns can be further divided into anion-exchange columns and cation-exchange columns. Anion exchange columns are used to separate cationic compounds, while cation exchange columns are used to separate anionic compounds. The stationary liquid of ion exchange columns is ion exchange resin, which has a strong separation ability, so it is widely used in fields such as drug analysis and biochemical analysis.
